The air is filled with songs of returning birds. Vermont's Green Mountains are famous for their fabulous fall display of fiery color, but did you know they also provide a Springtime show as well? When the trees are budding and leafing out, the mountains are covered with a tapestry of colors ranging from rosy reds to pale yellows to soft and bright greens. This is an excellent time to hike the many trails in the surrounding woodlands. Stowe Vermont Survivors Weekend - The weekend of Hope. Late winter and early spring are also a special time here in Vermont, bringing the annual maple-sugaring season. A great time to visit local sugar houses, see the production of maple syrup, taste the first sweets of the year and enjoy annual maple festivals.
April brings excitement to Vermont's streams and lakes as fish and fishermen alike break their winter dormancy and trout season begins.
The Stowe Recreation Path is changed from a cross-country ski route to a scenic biking, skating, jogging and walking path. This six-mile path, which winds it's way past farms, through the forest, and over footbridges to the center of Stowe Village, was named one of the "10 Great Walks of the World."
