Hiking & Nature
Meanwhile, off the mountain, new life is stirring underneath the disappearing snowbanks. Flowers are beginning to pop up in the many gardens along the Mountain Road and in surrounding meadows. The air is filled with songs of returning birds. Vermont's Green Mountains are famous for their fabulous fall display of fiery color, but did you know they also provide a springtime show as well? When the trees are budding and leafing out, the mountains are covered with a tapestry of colors ranging from rosy reds to pale yellows to soft and bright greens. This is an excellent time to hike the many trails in the surrounding woodlands.

The Stowe Recreation Path is changed from a cross-country ski route to a scenic biking, skating, jogging and walking path. This six-mile path, which winds it's way past farms, through the forest, and over footbridges to the center of Stowe Village, is a great way to get out and enjoy nature at it's finest.
Antiquing is a very popular spring activity. A variety of antique shops are located in the village and surrounding area. Visitors to Stowe also enjoy browsing through country stores and shops specializing in handcrafted Vermont products.
